Frequently Asked Questions

Prices

Is the gold price on this website the price you sell at?

Yes. The gold rate per gram on our homepage is exactly the rate we use in the shop, updated live from the global market. A piece of jewellery costs its weight × the gold rate, plus a making charge per gram that depends on the design and workmanship, plus 5% VAT.

Why do gold prices differ from shop to shop?

Not every shop quotes the same gold rate, and some quote above the real market rate. When comparing, check both the gold rate and the making charge.

How gold making charges work

Is the making charge negotiable?

Yes, the making charge can be negotiated. The gold rate can't, because it follows the global market.

Will gold go up or down?

Honestly, no one knows. We don't make price predictions; this site shows the live price only.

Buying gold

Is there VAT on gold?

24K bars and coins: 0%. 18K, 21K and 22K jewellery: 5% on the full invoice (gold + making charge). Tourists can reclaim about 85% of the VAT when leaving the UAE, using their passport and the QR code on the invoice.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cash, card and bank transfer. There's no extra charge for paying by card.

Do I need ID to buy or sell gold?

Yes. We need your Emirates ID or passport for both buying and selling. For very small amounts (under AED 1,000), a phone number is enough.

Which karat should I choose?

21K and 22K contain more gold. 18K is harder, and it's the standard for white gold, rose gold and diamond jewellery.

18K, 21K, 22K or 24K — what's the real difference?

Selling and exchanging

Do you buy old gold?

Yes. We pay 2–3% below the market rate, for the pure gold content only. For example, 10 g of 18K counts as 7.5 g of 24K. Please bring your Emirates ID or passport.

Can I sell gold I bought from another shop?

Yes. You'll first need a quick clearance from the CID office near our shop. If you have the original invoice, they verify it; if not, they issue a sale permit.

Can I exchange my old gold for new gold?

There's no direct swap. We buy your old gold for cash, and you're then free to buy whatever you like, or keep the cash.

What is your return and exchange policy?
  • Gold jewellery can be exchanged within 7 days of purchase. The original invoice is required, and the piece must be exactly as it was handed over, with no signs of wear or damage. Gold is exchanged weight for weight; if the making charges of the two pieces differ significantly, the difference is settled.
  • Diamond jewellery can be exchanged within 7 days under the same conditions.
  • 24K gold, bullion bars and coins can't be returned or exchanged.
  • Custom and made-to-order pieces can't be returned or exchanged. This includes designs from our website made specifically for you.
  • We don't offer cash refunds.

Bullion

What do “Bid” and “Ask” mean?

Bid is the price we pay when you sell a bar to us; Ask is the price you pay when you buy one. Keep the sealed packaging intact, because an opened bar sells for about 2% less.

Diamonds

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. They have the same chemical composition, hardness and brilliance as mined diamonds; only their origin is different. Every lab-grown diamond on our site is clearly labelled. We also offer natural diamonds in the shop.

How much does a lab-grown diamond ring cost?

Our solitaire ring (Noor) in 18K gold with an IGI-certified centre diamond starts from AED 2,700 for 1 carat, AED 3,925 for 2 carats and AED 5,125 for 3 carats (colour F, clarity VS1, including 5% VAT, October 2026 prices). The top grade, D-VVS1, is AED 2,950, 4,425 and 5,875 for the same sizes.

See the full price table on our lab-grown diamond page, and the final price on each ring's page.

Do your diamonds come with a certificate?

Yes. Every centre diamond comes with an IGI grading certificate; on our two-stone (toi et moi) rings, both diamonds are certified. The small side diamonds on halo and pavé designs don't have their own certificates, as is usual for small stones.

How can I check an IGI certificate?

Ask us for your diamond's IGI report number before you buy. Go to igi.org, open Verify Your Report and enter the number. The carat, colour and clarity shown there should match what you're buying. The same number is laser-inscribed on the edge (girdle) of the diamond.

How do I order a diamond ring from the website?

Choose your design, carat, colour, clarity and gold colour, then tap the WhatsApp button and your selection is sent to us. You can also visit the shop. Prices shown are final and include 5% VAT. If your ring needs to be made, it usually takes 7–10 days.

Why don't your diamond rings have discounts or discount codes?

Because the price you see is already the final price, and it's the same for every customer. We don't list a higher price just to cross it out, and we don't use discount codes. Prices include 5% VAT.

Do you deliver?

Yes, within the UAE, for orders confirmed through our website or WhatsApp. We don't ship outside the UAE.

Services

Do you offer repairs, cleaning and resizing?

Yes. For pieces bought from us, all three are free during the first year.

Can you make a custom design?

Yes, depending on the design, since some can't be made. Send us your idea on WhatsApp or bring it to the shop, and we'll tell you whether it can be made and what it will cost.

Where are you, and when are you open?

Shop No. 72-75, Gold Centre (Gold Souq), Madinat Zayed, Muroor Road, Abu Dhabi. Open daily 9 am – 10 pm; Fridays 4 pm – 10 pm.
